Comenius in Lithuania 4-10th November 2012 School
Klaipedos “Aitvaro” gimnazija is known as the best Russian school in Klejpeda. Working on our international project, we spent a lot of time in that building. It is located in a really charming area of the city where it is easy to get both by bus and on foot.
The first thing I noticed seeing the school was its size. In this huge building there are more than 300 classrooms, a large conference room and a gym. Then, after getting downstairs to the changing room, I saw lockers for clothing and books. What came as a surprise , neither teachers nor students change their shoes. After being showed around the whole school, I found out that, in spite of the fact that the students do not bring any slippers, which might be worn at school, this place is very clean. And I did not see even one person responsible for cleaning either. I’m still wondering how they do it to keep it so neat and tidy.
Students here are required to wear maroon uniforms with a metal emblem of the school on it.
The staff consists of more than 40 teachers, and the number of students is 306.
The learning program in Lithuania is divided into two parts: 8 years of primary school and 4 years of grammar-school. Lessons start at 8:15 every day, last 45 minutes and they are performed either in Lithuanian or in Russian. Grades are registered into the electronic journals (on the school website) and what is more, there are electronic boards in most classrooms.
You can also find there a school museum in the basement where are collected all the trophies, certificates, chronicles, old school newspapers, old uniforms, lots of pictures and other things related to the school life.
Students also have the school canteen which offers not only bottled water, sandwiches and sweets but also regular dinner. My new friends told me that the meals are served there at any time. So if you want to eat , you just come and have it. This food is both cheap and tasty. That is not only my friends’ opinion but also mine, as I personally tried one of these school lunches.
After spending just a few days in Klaipeda, I can frankly say that I got to like this place, the local teenagers, teachers and their school.

Szkoła
Klaipedos “Aitvaro” gimnazija uznawana jest za najlepszą rosyjską szkołą w Kłajpedzie. Realizując zadania związane z naszym międzynarodowym projektem , sporo czasu spędzaliśmy w murach tego budynku. Znajduje się on w urokliwym zakątku miasta, gdzie bardzo łatwo można dostać się autobusem lub pieszo.
Pierwszą rzeczą, na którą zwróciłam uwagę po ujrzeniu szkoły w całej okazałości, był jej rozmiar.
W tym postawnym budynku znajduje się ponad 300 sal, w większości lekcyjnych, duża aula konferencyjna i sala gimnastyczna.
Następnie, po zejściu do szatni, moim oczom ukazały się szafki na ubrania i książki. Co mnie zdziwiło, ani nauczyciele ani uczniowie nie zmieniają po wejściu obuwia, a po obejściu całości stwierdziłam, że mimo to, jest tam niesamowicie czysto. Przy czym, nie widziałam też ani jednej osoby odpowiedzialnej za sprzątanie (zastanawia mnie, jak oni to robią)
Kolejną widoczną rzeczą są mundurki. Uczniowie mają obowiązek codziennego noszenia bordowej (szkolny kolor) marynarki z przypiętą do niej metalową tarczą.
Kadra składa się z ponad 40 nauczycieli, a uczniowie pokazują się w liczbie 306-ciu.
Program nauczania na Litwie podzielony jest na 2 etapy: 8-letnią szkołę podstawową i 4 letnie gimnazjum. Lekcje zaczynają się od 8:15, każda z nich trwa 45 minut, a prowadzone są w języku litewskim lub rosyjskim. Oceny wstawiane są do dzienników elektronicznych zamieszczonych na stronie szkoły, a w większości sal lekcyjnych znajdują się elektroniczne tablice.
Znaleźć tam można również prowadzone przez uczniów muzeum, w piwnicznej części szkoły, gdzie zebrane zostały wszystkie trofea, dyplomy, kroniki, gazetki szkole z dawnych lat, pierwowzory mundurków, całe mnóstwo zdjęć oraz innych rzeczy, związanych z życiem szkoły.
Uczniowie mają możliwość korzystania ze szkolnego bufetu, który poza wodą w butelkach, kanapkami i słodyczami, oferuje również obiady. Od swoich nowych znajomych dowiedziałam się, że posiłki nie są wydawane w wyznaczonych godzinach, ale wtedy, kiedy uczeń zdecyduje, że chce zgłosić się po obiad. Jedzenie jest tam tanie i, jak słyszałam, a także sama miałam okazję się przekonać, również smaczne.
Po spędzeniu w Kłajpedzie zaledwie kilku dni, mogę szczerze stwierdzić, że polubiłam tamtejszą młodzież, nauczycieli oraz ich szkołę.
